Logistician age 2 flood

After many tests, here is an build involving the Portuguese logistician that does not stink too much of failure. Enjoy at your own risk. The build has caveats :

  • A wood treasure in base, or an excellent food treasure in age 1 is mandatory for the build to work.
  • You aim to trick your opponent to mass crossbows against your musketeers and counter him/her with your own crossbows (that have more range thanks to the logistician).
  • Forget about this build if your opponent has an age 2 unit that outrange your crossbows (hausa, dutch, india etc.)

Game plan :

Sacrifice age up time to set up an economy allowing you to spam logistician upgraded military units in age 2 with the help of crate shipments. You aim to attack around 8 minutes and catch someone off guard.

Age I :

14/20 TP+house opening. Build the TP first as this strategy requires a lot of XP early. As said in the intro you need a wood treasure in base to avoid idling your TC early. After your house is up, focus on food and XP treasures. Your first shipment is furrier. However, you can send feitoria or eco theory instead for more flexibility. It's not like this shipment helps you that much.

Age up with the logistician around 3'20". You will have idle after the 14th settler is out. In transition, chop for 50 wood and send advanced market. Build the market with the wagon then sell food. Reasearch hunting dogs. Keep selling food for coin then purchase wood with the coin. You need 100w for a house then bank 325 wood and more than 125c. These banked resources will pay for a barrack and steel traps in age 2.

Age II :

Send 700c asap. Research steel traps. You won't have your 3rd shipment ready unless you got extra XP (treasure or killing an explorer). Send 1 settler forward alongside the TC wagon. You want to forward your ennemy. Build the barrack next to the TC. Start training one musketeer from both the barrack and the forward TC.

Use the coin from the shipment to finish both batches of musketeers. Buy wood to make a house (you have leftover coin from the crates) and start training two more batches of musketeers. You may be strained for food to complete these two batches. Ship 700w as soon as you can. Abuse the market to get enough wood to queue one crossbow.

Once the 2nd wave of musketeers is out you can peek at the enemy's base. Finish the two batches of 5 crossbows with the wood from the crate and build two houses. Push your ennemy with this army.

Follow up :

If you need more crossbows ship 600w. If you want more musketeers, either ship 700f from the home city or ship 6 musketeers directly and produce another batch from the barracks. If you are getting outmassed by the other guy, it's time to send the cannonners (sell food to afford the shipment).

You do not have enough siege to blow up the enemy's base. If you cannot break through, contain, age up and ship 3 organ guns.
